William J. "Bill" Moran, M.D. passed away on June 25, 2024. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 58 years, Mary Beth who passed in June '23. Loving father to Bill Jr. (Ann), Megan Fitzpatrick (David), Matt (deceased) (Mary), Brion (Rebecca) and Moira Veech (Mike). He cherished and enriched the lives of his grandchildren: Liam, Julia, Luke, Angelina, Caitlin, Jack, Charlie, Henry, and Lucy and step-grandchildren Theresa (Daniel), Molly, and Mary Kate. Devoted brother to Jim (deceased), Tom (Thelma), Mary Ann (deceased), and Mike (Paula). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Born April 20, 1933, to the late William E. and Mary J. (nee O'Brien) Moran.
Bill grew-up in Indianapolis where he was a proud graduate of Cathedral High School. He earned his bachelor's and medical degrees from Indiana University. He was an All-American swimmer excelling in the backstroke for the Indianapolis Athletic Club and the IU Hoosiers. Bill served his country in the Navy during the Viet
